PvP Income Overview

Last updated:

Your PvP league and rank determine your biggest gem variable. See exactly what you'll earn in every arena — Restricted, Open, and Alliance War — with payouts for all 14 leagues and 120 ranks. At the default Elite II league (rank 13), you earn ~1,850 gems/week: 520 from Restricted Arena, 520 from Open Arena, and 810 from Alliance War. Climbing just a few leagues can add hundreds of gems per cycle. Use the interactive calculator on the main page to dial in your exact payouts.

All 14 Leagues

Your league determines your payout brackets across all three PvP modes. Higher leagues pay more gems and PvP Currency at every rank. Player counts shrink as you climb — making higher leagues more exclusive but significantly more rewarding. Arena Modes

WEEKLY

Restricted Arena

A weekly competitive PvP arena where your league and rank determine your baseline rewards. Higher leagues and ranks earn more gems, PvP Currency, and Hero Shop Tickets. Placement rewards are based on your ranking within your league at the end of the week. This is the most consistent PvP income source for players who maintain their league standing.

Strategy

  • ▸ Climb to at least Elite II rank 13 for optimal gem-to-effort value
  • ▸ Higher leagues provide better payout brackets at every rank tier
  • ▸ Hero Shop Tickets are awarded per the league's payout table — check your league for ticket amounts
  • ▸ Alliance participation can provide ranking protection and bonus rewards
  • ▸ Consistent weekly play prevents rank decay and maintains tier placement
WEEKLY

Open Arena

An open weekly arena for all players regardless of league. Performance is based purely on match results and ranking within your skill tier. Unlike Restricted Arena, the payout structure varies dramatically with rank. Strategic matchmaking and meta team composition significantly impact final placement and rewards. Open Arena rewards players who adapt to the current meta and optimize their roster, and also provides hero shards at higher leagues and ranks.

Strategy

  • ▸ Play consistently throughout the week rather than rushing last-day placements
  • ▸ Meta team compositions outperform individual skill at higher ranking tiers
  • ▸ Review match history for patterns and adjust your approach accordingly
  • ▸ Higher ranks in Open Arena grant exponentially better gem payouts
  • ▸ Coordinate with alliance members for duo and trio queue advantages
5⁄2 WEEKS

Alliance War

The ultimate PvP experience — a 5-match series over two weeks between alliances. Your individual performance contributes to your alliance's overall war score. The stakes are high: demotion becomes a real risk if your personal ranking reaches or exceeds rank 86. Victory requires coordinated effort, strategic matchups, and consistent high-performance play across all alliance members.

DEMOTION ZONE: Rank 86+ Players at or above rank 86 risk demotion after war concludes

Strategy

  • ▸ Coordinate with alliance for optimal team compositions every match
  • ▸ Spread your 5 matches evenly across the 2-week period for consistent scores
  • ▸ Individual performance directly affects alliance war ranking
  • ▸ After war ends, reassess your league and rank strategy for the next cycle
  • ▸ Monitor your rank throughout the war if near the demotion threshold (rank 86+)

Maximizing PvP Income

Your PvP income depends on three factors: league, rank within that league, and arena participation. Each league has its own payout brackets — higher leagues pay more gems and currency at every rank tier. Here's how to optimize each:

  • Climb leagues for better brackets — Elite II (120 players, rank 13 → 520 gems) pays significantly more than Intern (500 players, rank 13 → 80 gems). Each league tier up improves every bracket
  • Higher rank within your league matters — being rank 10 (top of bracket #4-10) vs rank 30 (bottom of #11-30) in Elite II changes your Restricted Arena payout from 560 to 520 gems
  • Play both arenas — Restricted and Open Arena both contribute independently to your total. Missing one means losing hundreds of gems per week
  • Open Arena also gives hero shards — higher leagues award Cecil, Shapesmith, or Agent Spider shards at top ranks, plus Hero Shop Tickets for featured heroes
  • Watch the demotion zone — if you're at rank 86+, your Alliance War income is at risk. Drop below the threshold before war concludes if possible

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the best league for gem income?

Elite II at rank 13 (520 gems in Restricted Arena) offers the best balance of effort and reward — it's achievable through regular play and provides strong payouts without intense competition. For maximum income, Invincible league rank 1 yields 750 gems per arena.

How does demotion work in Alliance War?

If your rank is 86 or higher when the war concludes, you risk being demoted to a lower league. The demotion resets your rank to a lower bracket, which decreases your future gem income. Monitor your rank throughout the war period.

Do cards get multiplied by league?

No. Cards and shards are not directly tied to league level in the new system. Each league has its own payout table — climbing to a higher league gives you access to that league's better bracket values across the board, not through a multiplier system.

How often do arena rankings reset?

Restricted Arena and Open Arena reset weekly. Alliance War runs on a 2-week cycle with 5 matches per cycle. Weekly resets typically happen Monday at server reset time.
